Barb’s Bunker
A Home for Hope & Healing
Originally, pre-COVID, I had intentions of creating 5-day trauma-recovery retreats once I had the spare room set up. In the meantime, my roommate moved back in and interrupted that flow of thought – both creating a restful guest room as well as the trauma-recovery retreats. Now that the roommate is moving out, I can return to creating a “retreat room.” However I have learned, through a little trial and error these past couple years, that having a structured retreat, might not be the best fit for me. I am still open to the idea of retreats, just more informal ones. There is something healing about being submersed in nature for a couple days regardless what conversations are had or programs facilitated. So if you’re interested in experiencing a few days away from the hustle and grind to help reset or collect your thoughts, feel free to message me and we can discuss options.
Online Groups
The latest idea is that of online groups. For the fee of one session, a person could have access to 10 monthly group meetings (taking a break July and August). Concepts I am considering include a book study (starting with Kristin Neff’s Fierce Self-Compassion), a monthly discussion of my blog postings, and a women’s group with each participant taking a turn supplying a topic for discussion. If any of these online group concepts appeal to you, feel free to message me. If there is enough interest (~10 participants), something could be set up via Owl Practice. This group concept would also work in my actual home if there were enough local people interested. I am not tech savvy enough to provide a hybrid scenario.
